[FYI] Education SIG kickoff - 6July2022

CRob Robinson (Intel)

Greetings Open Source Friends – On behalf of the OSSF’s Developer BEST Practices Working Group(1) I am pleased to announce that we will be adopting Stream 1 from the OSSF Mobilization Plan(2) into a new SIG within our group: The Education SIG.  We will be assembling to review the original plan, make changes as the community sees fit, and add in additional items to close any observed gaps.  Once we’ve completed the plan revision we’ll work with the OSSF TAC and Governing Board to officially move our proposal forward and start taking action!  I encourage anyone interested in the idea of helping develop and improve education materials or giving training for the larger Open Source ecosystem, please join us as we collaborate on this interesting and complex problem.

The SIG will meet weekly starting Wednesday July 6, 2022 at 9am EST.  You can add the call to your calendar through the OSSF’s public calendar(3).  We also invite you to review our first agenda(4) and add any opens you may wish to see discussed in our inaugural or future calls. We’re looking forward to seeing you all there and collaborating with you!
